The Second Week of Advent
This is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception which commemorates Mary’s conception. She is the daughter of St Anne and St Joachim. It can be confusing because the scripture reading today speaks of the archangel Gabriel’s visit to Mary to ask her to be the mother of God. But the feast celebrates Mary’s immaculate conception meaning from the moment of her conception she was not touched by original sin. Her body therefore was the proper and perfect place for Jesus to become human.
Mysteries are a word we read or hear about often in Catholicism. Pray for understanding and acceptance.
