Officers:  are Susan Gold, chairperson; Valeria Stokes, vice-chairperson;
and Linda Knibbs, secretary.

SUSAN CARLUCCI GOLDterm ends May, 2016.  Susan grew up in Connecticut, moved to Chicago in January 1990 with her husband Allan and enjoys God’s beauty by living next to Grant Park and the Lake.  She has been an active member of Assumption Church since 1991 and is always at the 9 a.m. Sunday mass sitting in the same spot and is one of the ushers.  Among other things, Susan has served as the chairperson for the auction since its inception at the annual Italian Dinner held every November.  Originally with Fr. Doyle and now with Fr. Joe, she helps create the Homecoming Picnic held every August in front of the Church on Illinois Street.  She was a member of the Pastoral Council Steering Committee that developed the mission statement and constitution for the PPC.  Susan was honored as the 2012 recipient of the Chicago Archdioceses’ Christifideles Award for service to the life of the Church as a member of Assumption.  What she appreciates most is the very special community that is Assumption and how so many fellow parishioners have become friends and family over the years, genuinely caring and supporting each other, which is the true blessing of being a member of our Assumption Church.
ELIZABETH KABACINSKI term ends May, 2017.  Elizabeth Kabacinski and her husband Bret have been members of Assumption since July 2013, although her family has had connections to the community for more than 30 years. A regular Eucharistic Minister and Lector at the 5 o'clock Sunday Mass, Elizabeth also serves as Lector Coordinator. Elizabeth works as the Pastoral Minister at Saint Athanasius Parish in Evanston and hopes to complete her Master of Divinity in Canon Law before June 2018
JODI EWEN-BURKEterm ends May, 2016.  Jodi Ewen-Burke and her husband Peter have been active Assumption Parishioners since October 2012.  Having found one another later in life, Jodi and Peter were married by Father Joe on April 13, 2013 at Assumption and have been actively involved since.  They are Eucharistic Ministers at the 5 PM Sunday Mass.  Residing in River North, near the Cathedral, Jodi and Peter enjoy their weekly walking treks to Sunday Mass come rain, shine or snow.  Jodi is an Executive Recruiter identifying top senior talent for her clients nationwide specializing in digital marketing, analytics and creative executive searches.  Jodi is delighted to serve on the Pastoral Council and hopes to help continue to make Assumption such a warm and welcoming spiritual community.
JOHN CIPRIANI - term ends May, 2018.  Born and raised in New York, Jon now lives in River North just blocks away from Assumption.  Jon is an attorney and works at a law firm in the Loop on professional liability insurance coverage matters.  He and his excellent wife, Dr. Veronica Penyak Cipriani, were married at Assumption in November 2014.  Jon is a member of Assumption Young Adults (AYA) and is actively working to advance the PPC and its programs.
LYNNE JAPP - term ends May, 2017.  Lynne and her husband, Paul, moved to Chicago from Los Angeles in 2012 and have come to love their new city.  Although they live just a block from the Cathedral, they chose Assumption as their parish because they thought they could make a bigger difference in a smaller parish.  When they joined the parish they met with Fr. Joe and said, "What can we do to help?"  Lynne sees great potential for growth at Assumption in the programs and services it can provide to its members and the surrounding area as more people move into the neighborhood bringing their time and talent to River North and Assumption.
CARRIE MARSHALL – term ends May, 2018.  Carrie was born and raised in Delaware; and moved to Chicago in order to attend Loyola.  She is currently a hospital social worker.  Carrie has been attending Assumption for over 3 years; and is active in the AYA.   She wants to further the mission of the PPC during her tenure and is looking forward to actively participating in other Assumption ministries.
MORRIS REEVES term ends May, 2017.  Morris, his wife Rosemary, and their dog Coco are residents of Streeterville.  They have been active members of the Assumption parish for approximately 15 years.  As a  native Chicagoan, he  was raised in Bronzeville.    Morris attended both DePaul and Loyola Universities in Chicago.  For most of his career Morris has worked in banking in the Chicago area.
RON TEVONIAN – term ends May, 2018.  Ron Tevonian and his wife Dee became Assumption parishioners  about nine years ago when they moved to the River Bend condominium, just four blocks away. They are regulars at Sunday 7:30 am masses where Ron serves as a lector and they both serve as Eucharist Ministers. Ron has been a lector on weekdays at 7 am for at least seven years. Ron had been a director of research and development at Bell Laboratories in Columbus, Ohio. When he retired they subsequently decided to move to Chicago, “for the adventure”.  The Assumption website is one of Ron’s volunteer projects. He also serves as a volunteer (and a webmaster) at non-profit organizations in the area including the Career Transitions Center of Chicago and the Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago.
MICHELLE VAN ALSTYNE terms ends May, 2016. Michelle moved to Chicago from Michigan with her husband John and three sons in 2010. Two sons have graduated college and are living in Chicago and New York; the youngest is in his junior year at the University of Michigan. Michelle works at Sentergroup, Inc. as the Membership & Operations Coordinator. Her commitment to the Catholic faith can be seen through her work as a Big Shoulder mentor for five middle school students at St Malachy. Her three sons attended Catholic School from K-12 grade and Michelle spent a number of years as a substitute teacher at St. Regis Catholic School in Michigan.  Michelle hopes to support the other members on the Pastoral Council in making decisions that benefit Assumption Parish.
