Assumption Young Adults

On May 16, Assumption's Young Adults prepared bag lunches for the homeless and needy. AYA takes part in a number of service, social, and spiritual activities during the year. The Garden Party that was postponed because of the smokey weather has been rescheduled for Thursday August 20 at 6:00pm. To get on AYA's emailing list, email assumptionaya@gmail.com

Welcoming New Catholics

Not baptized? Not a Catholic? OCIA (The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) is for those over the age of 18 who have never been baptized, were baptized in another Christian religion and are considering becoming Catholic, and for those who were baptized Catholic but received little or no religious education.  Those who choose to continue with the process normally receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation at the first Mass of Easter. The group meets on Sunday mornings beginning in September. Contact Fr. Joe for more information. There will be an information session on Sunday August 30 at 11:30 in the Rectory.

Alpha Series Begins September 17

Alpha is for everyone. If you are a life-long Catholic, Alpha affords you the opportunity to develop a more personal connection with Christ and a greater ability to share your faith with others. If you are not a churchgoer, or go only occasionally, or if you are asking yourself the big questions in life, Alpha allows you to ask your questions, express your doubts, and share your grievances in a non-judgmental atmosphere. Alpha is a series of films and guided discussions, enhanced with food.

Plenary Indulgence

2026 marks the 300th anniversary of the canonization of St. Peregrine, the fourteenth century Servite Friar known as The Cancer Saint. During the Jubilee Year, pilgrims may obtain a plenary indulgence by visiting a Servite church or shrine (like Assumption), spending time in Eucharistic Adoration, saying the Our Father and the creed, and invoking the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Peregrine.
