Chicago Help Initiative Fundraiser

Chicago Help Initiative is a consortium of business, residential, religious, social service, institutional and volunteer leaders striving to provide access to food, health services, shelter and employment to the homeless and needy. Assumption is an active partner. CHI's annual fundraiser will be held at the Chicago Sports Museum at Water Tower Place on Thursday June 6. For more information, contact

Baptism Preparation Session

The next preparation session for parents and godparents of infants to be baptized is Monday June 17 from 7:00 to 8:15pm in the Rectory. This is for first time parents and for those who have never before attended a preparation session. Call the parish office to register. Baptisms are normally scheduled for the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 1:15pm and on the first weekend of the month during Mass. It is not necessary to wait for the baby to be born to attend a preparation session. More here

Social Justice calls to action

Here are two important opportunities to help improve social justice in our community and nation:

Download a letter from the Archdiocese of Chicago describing a recent restriction on the number of immigrants to be allowed into the US - and urging you to voice your protest.

See details about an event at Old St. Pat's sharing the Human Faces of Immigration - Stories of Immigrants and Refugees in the United States.

Mark Your Calendars

Our Homecoming Picnic is Sunday August 11 in front of the church.

A Taste of Assumption returns Thursday November 7 at the Ballroom at 12 East Erie. A new menu and new surprises!
