The beatitude challenges are interrupted today. It’s the feast of St Nicholas and so of course we think of gifts. You are a gift of God. You also possess many gifts from God. His gifts are your many talents. Perhaps you have a good sense of humor and can brighten someone’s day. Or can offer a helping hand, or a dollar, or drive someone to an appointment. Can you write a thank you note to say thanks or draw out a smile from someone who’s feeling down? They are gifts of yourself.

Challenge: Simply gift someone with a smile or tell them they are doing a good job. Try to 'gift' people with encouragement.
