Rev. Joseph Chamblain, OSM, Pastor
 [jchamblain@assumption-chgo.org] A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Fr. Joe worked for several years as a librarian, before entering the Servite Formation Program in 1978. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1984. He has ministered in Servite parishes in central New Jersey, St. Louis, and Chicago, and has served as editor for a number of Servite publications. He has given parish missions and retreats throughout the country. From 1993 to 1999 Fr. Joe was Assistant Provincial of the Eastern Province of Servites. In 2006 he was named Director of the National Shrine of St. Peregrine (the cancer saint) at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica and Part-time Associate at Assumption. In 2009 he became Pastor of Assumption.
 
Rev. Michael Doyle, OSM:
[mdoyle@assumption-chgo.org] Father Michael Doyle was born in Chicago in 1938 and was ordained a Servite Priest in 1965. He holds advanced degrees in Theology and Educational Administration. He taught theology, philosophy, and education at Monte Senario College in Ladysmith, WI, where he was also Acting President for 13 months. He has served as Pastor of Annunciata Parish in Chicago, Seven Holy Founders Parish in St. Louis, and Assumption Parish (from 2006-2009). In 1974 Fr. Doyle was commissioned as a Chaplain in the Air Force Reserve, and was an Active Duty Chaplain from 1987 to 1998, where he pastored military parishes in Mississippi, New Mexico, and the Netherlands. He served many years on the Board of Trustees at Catholic Theological Union and as a member of the Servite Province Financial Council. On two separate occasions he held the office of Provincial Treasurer. Since 2009 Fr. Doyle has been Senior Priest in Residence at Assumption.
 
Rev. John Fontana, OSM:
Fr. Fontana was born in Chicago in 1951. He studied at Fenwick High School, St. Louis University, the Servites' Marianum in Rome, and Creighton University, where he earned a Master's in Christian Spirituality. Ordained in 1978, he spent his first years of priesthood at Annunciata Parish in Chicago. For ten years he was Formation Director for Servite Seminarians in St. Louis. Between 1991 and 2006, he ministered as a Spiritual Director, Retreat Leader, Parish Mission Preacher, and Part-time Associate at Seven Holy Founders Parish in St. Louis. He was also a Spiritual Director on the staff of the St. Louis Consultation Center, a theraputic and spiritual treatment for priests and religious women and men. He served in leadership for the USA Province of Servites as Assistant Provincial from 2006 to 2009 and as Provincial from 2009 to 2020. He moved to Assumption in July, 2020. He presently ministers as a Spiritual Director, at the National Shrine of St. Peregrine at Our Lady of Sorrows, and in pastoral ministry at Assumption.
 
Rev. John T. Pawlikowski, OSM:
[jpawlikowski@assumption-chgo.org] Father John Pawlikowski is Professor Emeritus of Social Ethics at Catholic Theological Union (where he taught for almost 50 years) and is the author of fifteen books. He has been a participant/speaker in Christian/Jewish/Muslim dialogues in Spain, Rome, Haifa, Israel and throughout the United States. His scholarly interests include the theological and ethical aspects of the Christian-Jewish relationship and public ethics. A leading figure in the Christian-Jewish dialogue, he has served as president of the International Council of Christians and Jews and is author of Christ in the Light of the Christian Jewish Dialogue and co-editor with Judith Banki of Ethics in the Shadow of the Holocaust.
 
Bro. Arnaldo M. Sanchez, OSM:
Brother Arnaldo was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. At the age of seven his family moved to the United States and settled in Springfield, MA. After college, Brother Arnaldo moved to Atlanta, GA, where he was an Executive at Federated Department Stores. After ten years, he moved to Kissimmee, FL to be closer to family. There he met the Servite Friars, who ministered at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish. He landed a job as Business Manager at St. Catherine's and joined the Servite Secular Order there. In 1999 he entered the Servite Formation Program and made Solemn Vows as a Servite Friar in 2004. Brother Arnaldo taught theology at Servite High School and then was Vocation Director for the USA Province of Servites from 2006-2009. From 2009-2015 he served as Director of Faith Formation at Seven Holy Founders Parish in St. Louis, while earning a Master's Degree in Leadership and Family Ministry from Dominican University. From 2015 to 2020 he ministered at St. Philip Benizi Parish in Fullerton, CA, and was Spiritual Assistant to the Servite Secular Order National Council. In 2020 Brother Arnaldo was assigned to the Servite Provincial Center at Our Lady of Sorrows as Secretary and Treasurer of the Order, with residence at Assumption.
 
Rev. Eugene Smith, OSM:
Fr. Eugene Smith was born and raised near Los Angeles, CA. He first met the Servites as a student at Servite High School in Anaheim, CA. He entered the Servite Formation Program in 1979 and was a ordained a Priest for the Western Province of Servites in 1988. He has served in Servite parishes in Denver and St. Louis, as a high school teacher in Anaheim, CA, and as a Formation Director in various locations. He spent six years on the General Council of the Servite Order in Rome. He ministered at the National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother in Portland, OR from 2015 to 2020. Fr. Eugene was elected Provincial of the USA Province of Servites in February, 2020, and works from the Servite Provincial Office at Our Lady of Sorrows in Chicago.
